1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how CLTCHRS (also referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information through the CLTCHRS public website and the CLTCHRS Windows desktop application (“ClutchCut”). The service helps creators turn Counter-Strike 2 demo files they own or are authorized to use into original short-form videos and, at the creator’s direction, publish those videos to connected platforms.
Local-first: match demos, gameplay footage, rendered videos, publishing history, and connected-account credentials are stored by the desktop application on the user’s own Windows computer. This public website does not accept or host those files.
2. Information handled by the public website
The website is informational. It does not provide user accounts and does not accept demo or video uploads. Our hosting provider may process routine request data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and security signals to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.
When you email us, we receive your email address, the content of your message, and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond to you, provide support, and manage early-access requests.
The site does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or behavioral advertising. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts; your browser may send ordinary connection data to Google when loading them.
3. Information handled by the desktop application
Content and project data
The desktop app processes demo files, match events, player names or identifiers contained in the demo, scoring preferences, rendered video and audio, previews, and publication status. These materials are used to identify highlights, render clips, display your local library, and complete the actions you request.
Configuration and diagnostics
The app stores local settings such as rendering paths, capture preferences, and social-platform configuration status. Errors and job state may be stored locally so interrupted work can be resumed. We do not automatically receive this information; you may choose to include it when contacting support.
Legal basis
Where applicable, processing is necessary to provide the features you request, to protect the service against misuse, to comply with law, or is based on your consent. You may withdraw consent for optional connected-platform access at any time by disconnecting the account.
4. TikTok information and permissions
If you choose to connect TikTok, CLTCHRS uses TikTok Login Kit and the Content Posting API. The app requests only the following permissions:
user.info.basic— to retrieve and display basic connected creator information, such as the creator nickname, username, and avatar, so you can confirm which account will receive a post.video.publish— to upload and publish a video only after you select TikTok, review the clip, edit the caption, choose privacy and interaction settings, provide required disclosures and confirmation, and press Publish.
The app also retrieves current posting capabilities from TikTok, including available privacy options, disabled interaction settings, and maximum permitted video duration. This information is used to render the publishing interface and validate your choice.
OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted with Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI) for the signed-in Windows user before being stored in the app’s local SQLite database. TikTok credentials are not embedded in the public website. Videos are transferred from your computer to TikTok using TikTok’s device-file upload flow. CLTCHRS does not use TikTok data for advertising, profiling, or sale.
6. Retention and deletion
Local project data remains on your computer until you remove it using CLTCHRS or delete the application data. Social authorization remains until you disconnect the account, revoke access through the platform, or the credential expires. Completed publication records remain locally so the app can display status and prevent accidental duplicate posting.
Email correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed for support, business records, security, and legal obligations. Routine hosting logs are retained according to the hosting provider’s operational policies.
To remove TikTok access and local account data, follow our Data Deletion Instructions. You can disconnect inside the app without contacting us.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information we control, and to appeal certain decisions. Because most app data remains on your device and is not available to us, the fastest way to exercise control is through the app’s delete and disconnect controls.
For information held by TikTok, use TikTok’s account controls or contact TikTok. For information you sent to us directly, email privacy@cltchrs.com. We may need to verify your request.
8. Security, children, and international use
We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including local token encryption and least-privilege platform scopes. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
CLTCHRS is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address it.
Website infrastructure and service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards are used for cross-border transfers.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the product, law, or platform requirements. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the website or application where appropriate.
